The story takes place 20 years after the last installment. At this point, Jane (Emily Mortimer) and Michael (Ben Whishaw) have grown up and both have experienced the various ups and downs of life. After the death of his wife, Michael takes on the responsibilities of providing for the family and caring for the children. Unfortunately, Annabel (Pixie Davies), John (Nathanael Saleh), and Georgie (Joel Dawson) all have their father's mischievous spirit, which makes Michael's head spin, leading him to call his sister Jane for help. One day, while the children are playing in the park, a strong wind brings the magical nanny Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) back into their lives, bringing new hope to this precarious family.
