Beautiful girl Mona Gray (Jessica Alba) has been connected with numbers since childhood, guided by her math-loving father (John Shea) into a colorful kingdom of digits. However, one day, her father loses his former brilliance due to a strange ailment, and the door to Mona's spiritual world gradually closes. Unwilling to have this eccentric daughter stay at home, her mother helps Mona secure a math teaching job at a local elementary school despite her lack of relevant certification and experience. Bravely, Mona steps into the classroom and becomes a teacher to a group of third graders. During this time, she meets the lonely little girl Lisa (Sophie Nyweide) and the quirky natural science teacher Ben Smith (Chris Messina), leading to a transformation in Mona's life...
