In the fifteenth year of the Meiji era, judo enthusiast Z姿三四郎 (played by Fujita Suke) unintentionally witnesses the battle between the Kendo League and the dojo. The dojo master, Yano Hongo, defeats the Kendo League opponents single-handedly with judo, leaving Z姿三四郎 deeply impressed and eager to become his disciple. However, Yano perceives him as inherently combative and capricious, intending to test his patience. Thanks to guidance from an old monk, Z姿三四郎 immerses himself in water while embracing a tree for many days, ultimately grasping his master's teachings. Under his teacher's training, Z姿三四郎 makes rapid progress in judo, gaining fame after battling the Kendo League. At this point, an unexpected visitor comes to challenge him, and just as Z姿三四郎 is about to step up, he is refused, with the promise to meet again in the future. Subsequently, Z姿三四郎 meets the beautiful Sayo (played by Hōsō Yūki) and falls in love, only to discover that his martial arts opponent is her father—jiu-jitsu master Murai (played by Shimura Ken)…
