While crossing a suspension bridge, Zatoichi accidentally causes the death of an elderly woman. Later, feeling guilty, he goes to a brothel and redeems the woman's daughter. However, the woman's lover, along with a group of villains, uses the woman as leverage to stab Zatoichi in both hands. In the extremely harsh and brutal circumstances, the disabled Zatoichi ultimately kills the gang of evil men. This is the darkest episode in the series, where the helpful Zatoichi nearly sacrifices himself. Additionally, a captured prostitute still cannot escape from the brothel, and her little brother is beaten to death by the villains, with his sister holding his corpse by the sea.
