Beautiful high school girl Ruby Rossi (played by Emilia Jones) is born into an extraordinary fishing family where her parents and brother are deaf and mute, communicating solely through sign language. While Ruby, who is healthy, is lucky, she is also unfortunate. She acts as the bridge for her family to communicate with the outside world, enduring numerous discrimination and ridicule. During this time, her best friend Gertie (played by Amy Forsyth) is her strongest support. Because she has a crush on a boy named Miles (played by Ferdia Walsh-Peelo), Ruby joins the school choir and is quickly recognized by the teacher due to her natural talent. After that, Ruby frequently travels between choir and her family, yearning to go to Berklee to pursue her music dreams, which will inevitably separate her from her family that relies on her so much. Ruby is deeply anxious about this... This film is based on true events.
