The film is based on a true story and tells the tale of Elisa (Vittoria Puccini), who is terminally ill and prepares 18 gifts for her soon-to-be-born daughter, Anna. However, she sadly passes away on the very day Anna is born. As Anna grows up, the burden of opening her gifts each year becomes heavier, as her birthday also marks her mother's death anniversary.
