67-year-old Trond has lost his loved ones and lost the "interest in talking to others." He prepares to retire to the mountains to live alone and peacefully spend the rest of his life. An encounter with a neighbor makes him recall the summer he spent with his father in the forest, the last time he saw his father, and the fate of his remaining life was forever sealed in that summer.
