The film is adapted from the true story of the Mimosa Tree. In the early summer of 1984, company commander Li Xiang'en and his team encountered a dangerous situation while patrolling along the Halaha River, and Li Xiang'en bravely sacrificed himself to save his comrades. To express her grief, his wife Guo Fengrong planted a cedar pine beside the outpost. Before her death in 2010, Guo Fengrong specifically entrusted her son Li Xin to scatter her ashes in the Halaha River, to continue accompanying her husband in safeguarding the northern border of their country.
