Ben (played by Idris Elba) is a skilled surgeon, highly trusted by his patients and superiors. In his spare time, Ben enjoys climbing, which is his only and most passionate hobby. One day, Ben is on a flight back to the city where he works, as a significant surgery awaits him. Also on the same flight is a journalist named Ashley (played by Kate Winslet), who is eager to reach her destination for her long-awaited wedding the next day. Suddenly, a snowstorm disrupts their plans, and their flight is canceled. Determined to return to the city on time, Ben and Ashley decide to take a private plane, but during the flight, the pilot suffers a heart attack and dies, causing the plane to crash in the deep mountains.
