Every American college has a beautiful cheer captain, and of course, there is also an unattractive outcast ugly duckling. Marnie (played by Kristen Bell) is the inspirational little duck in the ugly duckling story who, after growing up, finally becomes the sought-after charm director of a public relations firm after removing her glasses and braces. The nightmare comes when she returns home to attend her brother Will's (played by James Wolk) wedding, only to find that her future sister-in-law is none other than the former cheer captain Joanna (played by Odette Annable), who once led the bullying against her.
