The story takes place at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, a historic institution that serves as the best place for many passionate young men to achieve their dreams. As one of the elite students, Jack (James Franco) becomes a part of the academy. However, dreaming of success, Jack is quickly overwhelmed by the heavy coursework and rigorous training, with unsatisfactory grades putting him at risk of expulsion.
