The film tells the story of Nell (played by Marilyn Monroe), who, with the help of Uncle Eddie (played by Elisha Cook Jr.), finds a job caring for guests' children at a hotel. Nell has always yearned for a job, so she expresses deep gratitude to Uncle Eddie. Despite her gentle and obedient appearance, Nell is strongly attracted to jewelry and beautiful clothes. After taking care of a little girl, Nell becomes deeply fascinated by her employer's jewelry and clothing.
