Before leaving the capital for Itsukushima, Taira no Kiyomori experienced the Battle of Heikō. Overnight, all of Kiyomori's residences were attacked by the anti-Kiyomori faction. Heikō took the opportunity to rescue everyone. The samurai Endō Morisuke sent Watanabe's wife, Kasa, to his brother Moritomo's mansion. Morisuke was deeply attracted by Kasa's beauty.
