Sir Lionel (voiced by Hugh Jackman) is a monster investigator who risks his life to gain recognition from elite adventurers. He embarks on a quest to find undiscovered monsters, traversing mountains and oceans, vowing to leave his exploration footprints all over the world. One day, Sir Lionel receives an anonymous letter claiming that a rare, gigantic Sasquatch has been discovered in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Ecstatic, Sir Lionel immediately sets off on a journey to find it. Indeed, he soon encounters the creature of his dreams—Mr. Link (voiced by Zach Galifianakis), who shocks Sir Lionel with his apparent lack of ambition and proficiency in human language. At Mr. Link's request, Sir Lionel decides to take him to Shangri-La to find his distant relative—the Yeti.
