For those struggling in poverty, survival is the greatest meaning of life. 18-year-old Rosetta (played by Émilie Dequenne) is one such unfortunate woman. Her mother is a self-destructive alcoholic with no means to support herself, indulging in sexual affairs with lower-class men, leaving the burden of life entirely on Rosetta's shoulders. The two live in a trailer, and although Rosetta has not been able to find a stable job, she harbors a tenacious will to survive. In such harsh life circumstances, she goes so far as to antagonize her only friend in order to secure a job. After all, friendship seems too fragile in the face of survival. Fate shows no favor to this resilient girl, and she eventually falls into despair midway through her life and chooses to commit suicide. However, fate once again delivers a cruel mockery.
