Sam is a Frenchman of Algerian descent who has just been released from a French prison. He finds a job at a construction site through a probation program. However, he soon becomes entangled with a group of criminals who demand that he transport drugs for them. When he refuses, they attack and threaten him. To escape the turmoil, Sam flees to Thailand to start a new life. There, he meets a half-French, half-Thai woman named Mia, and they fall in love and adopt a little girl named Dara together. They dream of opening a restaurant on the beach, and to realize this dream, Sam starts participating in Muay Thai competitions to earn startup funds. However, tragedy strikes again when a local criminal named Narong seeks to force Sam to smuggle drugs through the airport in exchange for the beachfront property he desires. After Sam refuses, Narong's men kill Mia and kidnap Dara. Believing that Dara is also dead, a devastated Sam decides to seek revenge for the death of his family. With the help of his friend and mentor, Hansa, Sam tracks down and kills all those responsible, including Narong. In the final confrontation, Sam learns that Dara is actually alive and has returned to the village where they lived. Upon returning to the village, Sam finds Dara safe and sound. His friend Songba betrays Sam out of jealousy and ultimately chooses to commit suicide to atone for his actions. Sam leaves the village with Dara, determined to distance himself from violence and crime, and to begin a new life with his daughter, Dara.
