In the cold and remote northern country, generations of people have lived here. On this pure and harsh land blooms a flower from afar, delicate yet strong. Her name is Minako Kazami (played by Chieko Baishō), who, despite her family's opposition in her early years, resolutely followed her lover to the north to run a farm. Years ago, her husband passed away, and Minako struggles to support the farm while raising her son, Takeharu (played by Hidetaka Yoshioka). Few know of her hardships. One day, a silent man with a determined look passes by the farm; he returns to ask Minako to let him work there. Despite her concerns, she takes in this man named Kōsaku Tajima (played by Ken Takakura). Kōsaku carries a painful past, and in this remote place far from the city's hustle and bustle, he dedicates himself to work, forming a deep friendship with Takeharu and winning the trust of those around him. His resilience slowly opens Minako's heart... This film is the last installment of the "Minako Trilogy," with the first two films being "Family" and "Hometown."
