Synopsis: Inspector Fang Jin of the Inspectorate was framed by eunuchs and received a royal decree proclaiming his death for the crime of abusing power for personal gain, with his entire family taken back to their hometown. After being wronged, Tie Feihua entrusted Governor Dong Cheng of Huguang to escort Fang Jin's orphaned son, Fang Tuo. From the capital to Shaanxi, the journey was fraught with danger, as Dong Cheng valiantly defended Fang Tuo from assassins attempting to kill the loyal heir, successfully escorting him to Wuye. The assassins targeting Fang Tuo were none other than palace manager Sun Zhi’s eunuchs from the Western Depot. Ever since Wang Jiangyang was eliminated by Tie Feihua’s scheme, Sun Zhi harbored deep hatred for both Tie Feihua and his benefactor, Lord Jiu. Eunuch Chen Jian made multiple attempts on Fang Tuo’s life but failed; thus, Sun Zhi devised a sinister plot, using the emperor’s decree to force Lord Jiu to capture Fang Tuo, demanding the boy be delivered within the confines of Shaanxi by the time of the Double Ninth Festival. At that time, the Shaanxi Inspector, Cao Yifeng, would confirm his identity and escort him back to the capital. Sun Zhi’s plan was truly malicious: if Lord Jiu failed to capture Fang Tuo, he would be punished for negligence alongside Tie Feihua. If he succeeded, Sun Zhi would send his trusted henchman Chen Jian to secretly kill Fang Tuo, Lord Jiu, and Tie Feihua, avenging Wang Jiangyang’s death. Lord Jiu was an inept drunkard, and if there was any hope for survival in this crisis, it would depend on Tie Feihua. Grateful for the support from Lord Jiu and the guidance from Lord Fang Jin, Tie Feihua resolved to take action. She thought of Wan Yun from the Kuai Yi Hall. The Kuai Yi Hall has a branch in Shaanxi, and Wan Yun is the proprietress of the Four-Horse Inn. After some arrangements, Lord Jiu disguised himself as a merchant, under the covert protection of the Jinyiwei captain Diao Xiong, and journeyed to Shaanxi, checking into the Four-Horse Inn; just as Lord Jiu checked in, Chen Jian, sent by Sun Zhi, arrived at the inn and encountered him. At this moment, Tie Feihua entered Cao Yifeng's residence, waiting to observe the situation. While Tie Feihua was watching the developments, the Four-Horse Inn was filled with tension. First, Lord Jiu flaunted his free spirit, competing with Chen Jian for dominance; after one of Chen Jian's subordinates was mysteriously killed, suspicion and conflict escalated between Lord Jiu and Chen Jian. Pressured by Chen Jian, Diao Xiong turned against Lord Jiu, and just as Diao Xiong attempted to harm him, he too was killed. With continuous incidents at the inn, Wang Jin, Cao Yifeng’s trusted aide, surrounded the inn, but he was ultimately mortally wounded by Chen Jian during the chaos. Everything unfolded as Tie Feihua predicted. With Chen Jian dead, Wang Jin could not escape his involvement, and Cao Yifeng behind him could never clear himself of the accusation of plotting against the eunuchs of the Western Depot. Tie Feihua intended to exonerate Cao Yifeng, but unexpectedly, Cao Yifeng repaid her kindness with malice, surrounding Lord Jiu and Tie Feihua with troops. However, by this time, Tie Feihua had already entrusted Fang Tuo to Dong Cheng, Wan Yun, and other friends from the martial world; unable to hand over Fang Tuo, Cao Yifeng ultimately capitulated before Tie Feihua, pleading for mercy. Tie Feihua spared Cao Yifeng, parted ways with Lord Jiu, and thus distanced herself from the officialdom to roam the martial world.
