Story Summary: On a dark and windy night, a murder occurs at the Duke's residence, where Duke Zhou is killed by a masked assassin. The assassination incites the court's fury, and Eunuch Sun, the chief eunuch of the imperial harem, orders Supervisor Fang Jin to solve the case within a given time frame. Fang Jin entrusts the investigation to Tie Feihua, subtly conveying Eunuch Sun's suspicions about Tie Feihua's close ties to the Seven Colors Sect. Naturally, Tie Feihua cannot afford to be careless regarding the Duke's death, which has led to such suspicions. Tie Feihua obtains the Imperial Sword and heads straight to the wealthy Yang Zhifeng in Hangzhou with Liu'er. Tie Feihua recalls that not long ago, when dealing with Eunuch Wang Jiangyang, the fourth master of the Seven Colors Sect, Shuang Feiyan, hinted that Yang Zhifeng might be the leader of the Seven Colors Sect, Zeng Tong. Tie Feihua makes himself at home in the Yang residence, hoping to wait for opportunities there. That night, a masked figure delivers a notice stating that Yang Zhifeng's life will be taken on the Dragon Boat Festival. The notice also reaches the Yang residence’s kitchen worker, Hua Ergou. Hua Ergou presents the notice to Yang Zhifeng to curry favor, using the opportunity to negotiate for the release of Yang Zhifeng's concubine, Li Jun, who is a maid named Cai Ling. Yang Zhifeng agrees without suspicion, as ordinary people would see no flaws, but Tie Feihua discovers clues. Not only Hua Ergou but also Yang Zhifeng's personal bodyguard Zhao Jiao and the accountant, Mr. You, are suspicious. Zhao Jiao has mutual feelings with Yang Zhifeng's sixth concubine, who has long hoped for him to avenge her father's murder; Mr. You manages Yang Zhifeng's accounts and is well aware of Yang Zhifeng's secret dealings with the Hangzhou governor over salt smuggling. After several days of quietly observing the changes, Tie Feihua concludes that the leader of the Seven Colors Sect is within the Yang residence, though he cannot yet determine who Zeng Tong is. Over the next few days, several bizarre incidents occur in the Yang residence: first, Yang Zhifeng is captured by the prosecutor Chen Qingming due to an accidental injury; then, the Seven Colors Sect's badge is discovered in the Yang residence; soon after, the Western Factory pressures Tie Feihua, aiming to drive him out of the Yang residence. Amid these intertwined events and analysis, Tie Feihua sees clearly through Yang Zhifeng's tricks that the mastermind behind the assassination of Duke Zhou is one of Hua Ergou, Yang Zhifeng, or Mr. You. On the Dragon Boat Festival, Yang Zhifeng, Hua Ergou, Zhao Jiao, and Mr. You each have their own agendas. The sixth concubine hangs herself, infuriating Zhao Jiao, who points his sword directly at Yang Zhifeng; Hua Ergou, in pursuit of the Seven Colors Sect's roster, pushes Yang Zhifeng to his death. Tie Feihua arrives just a moment too late, finding Yang Zhifeng already fallen; before Hua Ergou dies, he points towards Mr. You; upon hearing of the sixth concubine's death, Zhao Jiao, in grief and anger, commits suicide. Everything seems to be over, but Tie Feihua suddenly thinks of Mr. You, intercepts him midway, and ultimately obtains the Seven Colors Sect's roster. The roster prominently states: Leader of the Seven Colors Sect: Yang Zhifeng.
