Synopsis: The eunuch Wang Jiangyang has been ordered to visit his family, and various factions in the martial world are on high alert. Wang Jiangyang is a trusted aide of the palace chief eunuch Sun Zhi, known for his rampant corruption and crimes. The Ninth Marquis has made several attempts to eliminate him but has failed due to the influence of the palace. Now that Wang Jiangyang is returning home, it gives the Ninth Marquis an opportunity to remove him. The inspectorate's officer Tie Feihua has just received a secret order from the Ninth Marquis to secretly track Wang Jiangyang and eliminate him en route. Sun Zhi has issued an edict requiring Tie Feihua and General Wu Zeng of the Jinyiwei to escort Wang Jiangyang, ensuring nothing goes wrong. Sun Zhi’s arrangements are actually due to a message from the leader of the Qicai Sect, Shuang Feiyan, who has explicitly stated the intention to take Wang Jiangyang's life. The Qicai Sect is already loathed by the court for their actions in the martial world. Sun Zhi wants to use Wang Jiangyang’s familial visit as bait to draw out the Qicai Sect and catch them all at once. To ensure Wang Jiangyang's safety, he pretends to be acting under an imperial decree and arranges for Tie Feihua to escort him; should Wang Jiangyang come to harm, Tie Feihua would also be in danger. The martial world wants Wang Jiangyang dead, which naturally pleases the Ninth Marquis. Before Wang Jiangyang leaves the capital, the Ninth Marquis secretly advises Tie Feihua to refrain from meddling too much. Wang Jiangyang sets off with a grand entourage under the protection of Tie Feihua and the Jinyiwei towards Fujian. As soon as he leaves the capital, assassination plots begin to unfold in the martial arts world, with Lady Wanyun of the Kuaiyi Hall leading the orders to attack; Shuang Feiyan from the Qicai Sect is secretly following them, waiting for a chance to strike. Throughout the journey, Wang Jiangyang's sudden change in demeanor raises suspicions for Wanyun, Shuang Feiyan, and Tie Feihua: Why is Wang Jiangyang so low-key and charitable? Why is there no military escort along the way? With these questions, Tie Feihua continues to guard and ponder, eventually finding a clue: “Could it be that Wang Jiangyang has other intentions on this journey?” Connecting this to the Ninth Marquis’s prior warning, Tie Feihua slowly becomes more convinced of his judgment. Upon leaving the capital, Wang Jiangyang proceeds to Chengzhou, where seeing no movement from the Qicai Sect, he becomes anxious about failing Sun Gonggong's task, and thus reveals the true purpose of his trip to Tie Feihua using a secret edict from Sun Gonggong. This order corroborates Tie Feihua's suspicions. Consequently, Tie Feihua changes his mind, planning to use Wang Jiangyang's familial visit and Wu Zeng's power to eliminate Wang Jiangyang midway. Upon reaching Xiemazhen, Wu Zeng provides Tie Feihua with the opportunity to take out Wang Jiangyang under the guise of borrowing a blade. Wu Zeng, eager to flatter Wang Jiangyang, falls for the trick of Lady Wanyun disguised as a country girl, who claims she can capture Shuang Feiyan alive for a reward of one hundred thousand taels of silver. In Xiemazhen, Lady Wanyun brings the "captured" Shuang Feiyan to the yamen. During the negotiations, both parties engage in a confrontation. Tie Feihua, pretending to protect Wang Jiangyang, secretly strikes his acupuncture point, giving Lady Wanyun and Shuang Feiyan the chance to assassinate him. Wang Jiangyang meets a tragic end in Xiemazhen, while Wu Zeng is arrested by Tie Feihua on charges of "colluding with the martial world," marking the end of the "borrowed blade" scheme.
