In Paris, just after winter, Anna meets her husband Clément's friend, Saro. Anna is always worried about Saro, feeling that he is not a good person. Clément is quick-tempered and soon has a falling out with his father, the owner of the company, and resigns from the family factory. Their poor financial situation always leaves Anna frowning, and to make her happy, Clément decides to take her to a nightclub for some fun. Unfortunately, they run into Anna's old lover, Maroc, and their flirtatious behavior makes Clément extremely jealous. Anna, determined about this matter, decides to leave her husband. Clément, who loves his wife dearly, is heartbroken and drowns his sorrows in alcohol until one day he receives a call from Saro. It turns out that Clément has joined a radical organization. The organization has twelve members, and Saro has been elected as the leader and organizer. They meet twice a month for training, concealing their terrorist actions under the guise of a hunting group. They train during the day and teach theory at night. Saro claims that Western capitalism is rotting, and they must use force to establish a new regime. Their target for this assassination is councilor Thérasse, with Clément as the assassin. This is Clément's first assassination attempt, and although he is very nervous, he succeeds. However, after the assassination, news of Clément being wanted spreads throughout the streets, while the "dead" Thérasse gives interviews discussing how he escaped disaster with the help of a mysterious benefactor. Clément quickly realizes everything; he has been betrayed, and the betrayer is Saro. Left with no choice, Clément and his wife Anna flee to the countryside to stay with his friend Paul. But Clément cannot extinguish the anger within him and soon decides to take revenge, leaving a heartbroken Anna behind. Paul takes care of her and helps her start a new life, and they fall in love. Clément pursues Saro across great distances and finally kills his enemy in what he believes is the right way, but Clément also becomes a notorious murderer. Returning to Paris, he discovers that Anna is pregnant with Paul's child. Furious, he arranges a duel with Paul on a small island in the river. Paul, trying to avoid conflict, is eventually forced to shoot and kill Clément.
