At the auction, the price of Vincent van Gogh's (played by Tim Roth) masterpiece "Sunflowers" gradually rises, ultimately settling at an astronomical figure. While the world fervently adores van Gogh's art, who would think of the name Theo (played by Paul Rhys)? This film tells the story of van Gogh and his brother Theo. Throughout his life, van Gogh is plagued by poverty and consumed by his inner demons, relying on his brother Theo's support to continue his art. In van Gogh's view, he can only devote himself to the canvas and colors, leaving the other troubles of life for his brother to resolve, as he has given all of his works to Theo. Theo loves and respects his brother's art, and although he is not wealthy himself, he willingly supports his brother. Whenever van Gogh faces financial issues or even emotional problems, Theo is there to offer selfless help. It can be said that without Theo, there would be no van Gogh in this world. Van Gogh sold only one painting during his lifetime; he died consumed by his passion for painting and guilt towards Theo. After van Gogh's suicide, a heartbroken and despairing Theo soon passed away as well. The two brothers never had the chance to enjoy the accomplishments brought by van Gogh's priceless art, leaving their legacy to be celebrated by future generations.
