Henry (Alec Guinness) is a gold bullion transporter whose job is to load gold bars into armored vehicles for delivery. This job is thrilling yet boring at the same time; regardless, Henry repeats this mechanical routine, and in the blink of an eye, 20 years have passed. One day, Henry suddenly decides he no longer wants to lead such a dull life. He wants to make a big score and live a life of luxury, targeting a shipment of gold worth one million pounds. For this caper, Henry naturally doesn't forget his old friend Alfred (Stanley Holloway), and they decide to hide the stolen gold in some small models of the Eiffel Tower to be sent to France. However, in the chaos, these models are mistakenly sold to a group of female students.
