A car accident takes the life of two zoologist brothers' wife. Following this, they become infatuated with a woman who lost a leg in the accident, while simultaneously documenting the process of animal carcasses decomposing with their camera. In the film's static shots, the corpses of crocodiles, puppies, swans, and zebras gradually turn black, shrivel, emit putrefied fluids, and are infested with maggots. Ultimately, the remaining leg of the woman also "gradually dies" and is amputated, after she gives birth to a pair of twins belonging to the two brothers, and she dies. The two brothers then inject themselves with poison in front of the camera, using their own corpses as the final subjects of study and display.
