The heartwarming school club comedy "Wait a minute, Baseball Club! The Daily Life of the Prefectural Kamitsuru High School Baseball Team," illustrated by Takana Yukiue and serialized in "GOGO Bunch" (Shinchosha), is set to be adapted into a live-action film. It has also been revealed that fresh cast members including Kenta Suga, Yuta Koseki, and Ryosuke Yamamoto will come together for this project. The Prefectural Kamitsuru High School baseball team is the most average team in Japan, neither strong nor weak. After the last summer of their third-year, the first-year players Ohori, Akimoto, and Miyata start a new daily life alongside their remaining second-year teammates. The three juggle classes and typical junior athlete chores while dedicating themselves to baseball. One day, Ohori, who received a failing grade on a retest, finds himself in a bind! If he fails the retest again, he can't participate in summer training camp!! Will the King of Fools, Ohori, manage to pass the retest and make it to camp? The original work is a comic by Yukiue, who also handles the manga "Mr. Ti," depicting the daily life of a male nursery teacher. While it's a baseball club manga, it is a heartwarming youth comedy that women can enjoy as well, showcasing a light-hearted aspect of club life without the heat. Also, the boys in the baseball club are mostly attractive, a hallmark of female manga artists. This live-action film will also feature a refreshing cast of good-looking actors, just like the original work. Playing the honest and straightforward Hiroki Ohori, often called the King of Fools in the baseball club, is Kenta Suga, who has been expanding his career across films, dramas, and stage plays with roles in the "ALWAYS Sunset on Third Street" series, "Beast Road," and as the lead character Shoyo Hinata in the hyper projection theater "Haikyuu!!" Also included is Yuta Koseki as Takahiro Akimoto, one of the three fools and a boy with strong opinions on tea serving, who has appeared in "Dandori. Dance☆Drill" and the currently airing "Even If Love Is Awkward, It’s Okay." Ryosuke Yamamoto plays the natural and easy-going Nao Miyata. This will be the first time for the three actors to co-star in a film. Koseki reflects, "Since we went to the same school during our student days, it was easy to immerse ourselves into the roles. I think that goodness is reflected in the atmosphere of the acting, so I hope everyone looks forward to it!" Yamamoto described his character as "a super easy-going fool who often engages in mysterious behaviors like suddenly photosynthesizing in sunny places," adding, "I hope viewers will feel energized watching the lovable antics of these three charming fools and think, ‘Friendship is great!’" Suga commented, "The brightness of being able to put all your effort into silly things during student days was beautifully expressed, and above all, I naturally smiled at the affection for the three fools." He also stated, "While baseball is in the title, the baseball depiction doesn't increase at all even after being adapted into a film (laughs). I think it has become a relaxed and humorous work." The director is Tadaaki Hourai, known for directing seasons 1-3 of the popular TV program "Solitary Gourmet" and the high-rated drama featuring Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, "The War of Lies."
