During the peaceful era of the Genroku period, a treasured sword granted by the shogun to the clan elder is stolen by the wandering warrior, Kazamatsuri Ransuke. The clan elder's son, Inukai Heisaburo, sets off on a journey with his childhood friend to reclaim the sword, only to be thoroughly defeated by Kazamatsuri. Fortunately, Heisaburo is rescued by the skilled swordsman Gokudo Hanbee and his beloved daughter Koharu. Despite barely saving his life, Heisaburo is determined to seek revenge.
