This film mainly tells the story of veteran Zhang Wei and a group of tourists who encounter peril and struggle for survival in the snowy mountains of Northeast China. While working away from home, veteran Zhang Wei receives a letter from the village chief, who hopes Zhang can return to his hometown in Northeast China to help build it up and prosper together. After returning, Zhang Wei takes a job at a scenic spot in the snowy mountains. One day, he and the tourists board a hot air balloon, but suddenly a blizzard hits, causing the balloon to crash.
