The cheerful holiday arrives, and Dave (Jason Lee) takes the chipmunks Alvin (voiced by Justin Long), Simon (voiced by Matthew Gray Gubler), and the Chipettes on a luxury cruise for a fun and carefree trip. However, Alvin and the others are having too much fun and cause quite a ruckus on the ship, which frustrates Dave. The mischievous chipmunks play with kites, only to end up falling into the sea with Dave and their old rival Ian (David Cross), drifting to a deserted island. The little ones embark on a survival adventure in the unknown jungle, where they also meet the beautiful Zoe (Jenny Slate). The seemingly paradise-like island holds hidden secrets...
