Ah Chuan (played by Zhang Xioaquan) is a very gentle man. One day, while working, he suddenly faints. However, after a doctor's examination, no physical abnormalities are found, and the doctor diagnoses that Ah Chuan may have a mental illness. Ah Chuan returns to his hometown for recuperation, where his father Uncle Wang (played by Wang Yu) and sister Xiaoyun (played by Huang Xiangqi) live. Unexpectedly, Uncle Wang finds out that Ah Chuan has killed Xiaoyun. Uncle Wang locks Ah Chuan in a small room and deals with his daughter's body alone. Xiaoyun's husband, who hasn't seen his wife for a long time, comes looking for her, and just as he is about to find Ah Chuan's hiding place, Uncle Wang kills him. The disappearance of both Xiaoyun and her husband attracts the attention of the police. Two police officers lock Uncle Wang and approach the small room where Ah Chuan is hiding, but are instead killed by Ah Chuan. To cover up his son's crime, Uncle Wang takes on all the guilt himself.
