Famous candy maker Willy Wonka (played by Gene Wilder) announces shocking news to the world: he will select five lucky children to visit his candy factory, and one of them will receive the lifelong privilege of enjoying "Wonka Chocolate." Charlie Bucket (played by Peter Ostrum), a poor boy, is fortunate enough to be the fifth selected. Overjoyed and filled with expectation, Charlie brings his Grandpa Joe (played by Jack Albertson) along to embark on this sweet magical journey. Meanwhile, an evil stranger is tempting the children, promising wealth to anyone who can steal candy for him. As Wonka leads the children through the marvelous candy factory, the other four kids continuously disappear one by one, leaving only Charlie and his Grandpa Joe at the end. This film is adapted from Roald Dahl's novel of the same name and was ranked the eighth "Best Family Film" by Channel 4 in the UK.
