Anders Hill (played by Ben Mendelsohn) has long lived in "The Landing," a wealthy small village in Connecticut located on the commuter rail line, and now he is ready to enjoy the rewards of a wiser life. In his fifties, recently retired, having paid off his adult son's college tuition, Anders feels he has had enough of this stable routine: so he leaves his wife (played by Edie Falco), buys an apartment, and awaits the unrestrained freedom to transform his life. Without the comfort of his previous identity, Anders embarks on a tumultuous and heartbreaking journey to reconcile his past with his present. The film is written and directed by Nicole Holofcener (known for "Enough Said" and "Friends with Money") and is adapted from the 2014 novel of the same name by Ted Thompson. Other actors in "The Landing" include Connie Britton, Elizabeth Marvel, Thomas Mann, and Bill Camp.
