Ryoko Hirosue will co-star with TOKIO member Tomoya Nagase as a married couple for the first time in the special drama "Miho's Dimples," which will air during this year's Nippon TV's "24-Hour Television 33" (August 28-29). "Miho's Dimples" tells the story of a 13-year-old girl who passed away from a brain tumor and her family's struggle against the disease. The original work of "Miho's Dimples" is based on a book of the same name. Miho was diagnosed with leukemia in her childhood and later developed a malignant brain tumor in middle school. Her mother, Riko (played by Ryoko Hirosue), narrates Miho's life battling illness, along with Miho's hand-drawn letters, which comprise the book. On the day of her entrance ceremony for the first year of middle school, Miho suddenly experienced a headache and was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor after an examination. Her parents, Riko and Kazuo (played by Tomoya Nagase), were filled with despair. After receiving a set of drawing tools from her father, Miho began to draw every day in her hospital bed, gradually capturing the attention of those around her… Mayuko Fukuda plays Miho's sister, and Misako Tanaka plays Miho's attending physician.
