16-year-old Yuri has always lived in the Gagarin Tower—a massive public housing project located in the suburbs of Paris. He dreams of becoming an astronaut. When his beloved community is about to be demolished, Yuri forms a small resistance alliance with his friends, aiming to save the Gagarin Tower and transform the cold concrete building into a dream spaceship. The demolition of the old housing complex evokes sighs from the lower social strata, but the film uses a unique visual style, bold sound design, and an unconventional perspective to soften the bitterness and helplessness of real events, radiating a particularly moving youthful spirit. Gagarin is not only the code name for the residential building and the surname of a heroic astronaut but also symbolizes the steps taken to leave the capsule and the perspective of gazing at different stars.
