When Chen Yuyan was thirteen, her father passed away, and her mother remarried to pay off debts, leaving Yuyan to stay with Aunt Wang. Aunt Wang's son, Zhixiong, was Yuyan's childhood friend and these were her happiest days, unfortunately, Zhixiong's family moved away, and Yuyan reluctantly went to live with her mother. Yuyan refused her father's arranged marriage and ran away from home. Later, to raise money for her mother's medical bills, she married a dying rich man's son, and became a widow as soon as she entered the family, ultimately being seen as an omen of bad luck and was expelled. Yuyan reunited with her childhood friend Wang Zhixiong, and they had a son, Guohua. Tragically, Zhixiong died in an accident, leaving Yuyan to raise their son alone. When Guohua fell gravely ill, Yuyan had no choice but to work as a dancer to earn money. After Guohua graduated from high school and received a scholarship to study abroad, he lacked travel funds, and Yuyan even sold meat to support his dreams. After completing his studies, Guohua returned and got engaged to his classmate Oumeiling. When Meiling's father learned of Yuyan's background, he strongly opposed the marriage. Yuyan lied, claiming Guohua was not her biological son, and then attempted suicide. Guohua, moved by her plight, decided to find his mother, and Meiling also persuaded her father to change his mind. In the end, under everyone's persuasion, Yuyan gave up on her suicide attempt and reunited with her family.
