The documentary "Akashinga: The Brave Ones," produced by James Cameron, focuses on a group of hardcore women who vow to fight poachers at all costs. They willingly undergo grueling training and are armed to protect endangered animals, drawing strength from the most powerful force in nature: the protective instinct of women. According to organizer Damien Mander, these women, who have suffered from sexual assault, domestic violence, and other hardships, are better suited than anyone to protect the vulnerable. "Akashinga" means "the brave ones" in the Shona language. The film will premiere on this year's Earth Day.
