The towering Andes Mountains, now an overlooked mural in a subway station. The rapid pace of economic development tramples on historical footprints, yet the majestic mountains remain unmoved, standing in Chile for millions of years, silently witnessing the brutal truth of Pinochet's dictatorship. Countless lives have silently fallen, the cracks in the stones bear poignant marks, and the photojournalist Pablo Salas has documented the history uninterrupted for twenty-seven years. Guzmán, after "Nostalgia for the Light" and "The Pearl Button," once again carves sorrowful imagery of home and country with breathtaking mountains, while the furious wind sweeps across the peaks, reciting a deep love for this land. Winner of the Cannes Best Documentary Golden Eye Award.
