Yoshida Shuichi (played by Eita) works at a large advertising agency and is young and accomplished. He is married to his colleague Akiko (played by Nakamura Yuri), and with the strength and connections he has accumulated, he has started his own business. Both his family and career seem to be going smoothly, but after reaching the peak of his life, fate takes a tragic turn. He and Akiko's relationship deteriorates, and on a snowy winter night, after arguing with his wife, he leaves home for a hotel, only to recall his father, who left home 22 years ago. Back then, his father, Kanji (played by Eita), was a carefree man who accumulated a massive debt he couldn’t repay, ultimately abandoning his family. For reasons unknown, Shuichi decides to search for his father, and along the way, he hears various expressions of hatred and complaints from those who know his father.
