In 2085, Earth has become a wasteland, and the few remaining survivors are afflicted with incurable diseases. Joe, an underage young man and the last filmmaker in the world, along with his grandfather Shakespeare, a film collector, sets off to the last sanctuary of Athens with a handheld camera and a collection of film treasures to document the revelry and collapse of human civilization at its brink. Although the film unfolds from the protagonist's first-person perspective, its natural and calm tone offers viewers an opportunity for independent contemplation. The background setting intertextually echoes contemporary society, while the diverse international cast adds a sense of universal destiny to the film, giving the last words in the text a waking significance. Cinematic elements are woven throughout the film, with surprises waiting to be discovered by the audience.
