Mona, a woman from Northern Sudan, was once a singer but left the music scene after getting married. Despite living a respectable life, she is tormented by a secret: she indirectly caused a murder. To ease her guilt, she takes in the widow and son of the deceased, Julia and Daniel, who come from Southern Sudan and have lost their livelihood.
