Lin Sha (played by Estella Warren) is a typical new-age woman, independent and strong, yearning for a free life. Lin Sha has been in a relationship with a man named Marx (played by David Eigenberg) for many years; however, her fear and hesitation about marriage hinder their relationship, causing Lin Sha a great deal of distress. Lin Sha decides to take a break from Marx. During this time, she actively participates in social events and meets new people, eventually getting to know A.J. (played by Justin Kirk). The two connect exceptionally well both in interests and thoughts, developing a feeling of having met too late. As time goes by, Lin Sha's understanding of marriage gradually matures and becomes complete. She decides to return to Marx, but just then, Lin Sha realizes that she cannot forget the happy times spent with A.J.
