Georgetown was once a peaceful town, but suddenly several bizarre murders occurred, with religious sacrificial marks found on the corpses; even more brutally, the killer used electric drugs to render the victims unable to scream; yet they remained aware of the extreme pain during their torture! Victims ranged from innocent children to pacifist priests, leaving the townspeople in fear of falling victim to the heinous acts! Sheriff Bill of Georgetown constantly recalls the tragedy of Father Karras jumping to his death after being possessed by the demon over a decade ago, but wonders: the demon should have been eradicated with the priest's sacrifice, how could it return to haunt again? Movie-related: · Brad Dourif played a character in prison, and when asked how he could enter and exit unnoticed, he replied, "It's child's play." This line alludes to his voice role as Chucky in "Child's Play" (1988), "Child's Play 2" (1990), and "Child's Play 3" (1991). · The film is inspired by the infamous serial killer The Zodiac. · In the movie, the university president says his favorite film is "The Fly" (1958), and the actor playing the president, Lee Richardson, appeared in "The Fly II" (1989). · Director William Peter Blatty initially hoped the film could share the same name as his novel "Legion." Despite his objections, the title was ultimately set as "The Exorcist III." · Initially, Jason Miller was not included in the film, and in fact, Father Karras's corpse was played by Brad Dourif, with a scene showing George C. Scott examining the priest's body on the operating table. After a test screening, producers decided to include actors from the 1973 "The Exorcist," prompting William Peter Blatty to rewrite the script with Jason Miller portraying Father Karras. · The film is adapted from William Peter Blatty's novel "Legion," published on August 1, 1983, but he was initially reluctant to sell the film rights until he became the director. Although the title was set as "The Exorcist III," there are no exorcism scenes in the book or script, forcing the producers to deliberately add exorcism scenes during filming. · William Peter Blatty hoped John Carpenter would direct the film, but Carpenter declined. Memorable quote: The Gemini Killer: I like plays. The good ones... Shakespeare... I like Titus Andronicus the best; it's sweet. Incidentally, did you know that you are talking to an artist? I sometimes do special things to my victims: things that are creative. Of course, it takes knowledge, pride in your work... For example, a decapitated head can continue to see for approximately twenty seconds. So when I have one that's gawking, I always hold it up so that it can see its body. Killer: I like plays, especially Shakespeare's. My favorite is "Titus Andronicus," it's really good. By the way, do you know you're speaking with the same artist? Sometimes I do special things to my victims, some creative things. Of course, this requires knowledge and pride in your work. For instance, a decapitated head can continue to exist visually for about 20 seconds, so when I behead someone, I always hold it so they can see their own severed body.
