After her father tragically passes away in a construction accident, 17-year-old Ola travels to Ireland to bring his remains back to their home in Poland. In Ola's previous life, her father was largely absent, so she initially has little interest in how he lived in Ireland, focusing instead on his promise to buy her a car and wondering if he saved enough money for it during his life. Ola constantly uses the "street smarts" she learned back home to negotiate with foreign officials, and through this process, she gradually realizes that what she cares about the most is not the car, but rather who her father truly was.
