"Beast Road" tells the story of a girl named Ai (played by Sara Ito) who is abandoned by her mother, who is obsessed with various religious groups, and spends seven years in an orphanage. She is then arranged to attend a certain high school, but still remains unadopted. Ai drops out midway and has been taken in by families from the lower social class as well as middle-class families, but she cannot settle down. The only person who understands Ai is Ryota (played by Kenta Suga), a boy who likes her and is also an orphan waiting to be adopted. Ultimately, Ryota becomes a thief, while Ai falls into a life of turbulence, and their innocence is consumed by a city as wild as a jungle. This is a heart-wrenching black comedy.
