In the late Northern Song Dynasty, the brave General Shi Jianyong (played by Fan Shaohuang) was born in Cangzhou Prefecture and lived with his elderly mother. Despite being bold and strong, working in the unrefined business of collecting debts for others, he adhered to the moral and ethical standards upheld by people in the jianghu (martial arts community). One day, Shi Yong was deceived by the cunning wealthy man Li Ye, who hired him to reclaim a house that had been occupied by others. His chivalrous spirit led him to meet the renowned figure known as the Little Whirlwind, Chai Jin. However, after several mishaps, he was wrongfully imprisoned and sentenced to three months of hard labor at the border of Cangzhou. Life in prison was harsh, ruled by the tyrannical head of the prison, particularly the powerful Hong Laotou, who attracted everyone’s admiration. The straightforward Shi Yong refused to accept his fate and sought ways to escape from this squalid place... This film is based on one of the Four Great Classical Novels, "Water Margin"
