In the late Northern Song Dynasty, treacherous officials hold power, and the world is in chaos. In a tavern in Jizhou City, Du Xing (played by Qiao Pengyue), who looks like a scholar, is meticulous in his accounting, ensuring that even with millions, not a cent is miscounted. Every night, he puts on a mask and transforms into a chivalrous hero who eliminates evil for the people. Local bully Lei Lao Jiu has his eye on Scholar Li's family heirloom painting, and in order to possess it, he even encourages his two sons to kill the scholar. Greedy Governor Zhu colludes with the Lei family, intending to frame the masked hero Du Xing, but unexpectedly, the painting is stolen by Ghost Face that very night, leading to distrust between Governor Zhu and the Lei family. The tavern owner, Wang, who secretly communicated with Liangshan heroes to rescue a nearly murdered woman from the Li family, reveals his true capabilities, arousing suspicion from the Lei family. Du Xing is about to face a storm in the martial world... This film is adapted from one of the Four Great Classical Novels, "Water Margin."
