During the harvest season, the countryside is always especially busy, even on Sundays, as everyone rushes to ensure a good yield. On a farm sixty kilometers south of Berlin, Marco (Lukas Steltner) is dedicated to becoming a farmer and is working hard to familiarize himself with farming tasks, hoping to pass his final exam and officially become a farmer. Yet even he is uncertain if this is his ideal profession, and his introverted nature makes him feel isolated among other apprentices. Jacob (Kai Michael Müller), a lively young city dweller, comes to the countryside for an internship, and the two young men become friends. They decide to take a break from their work and spend a day in Berlin, and it's on this day that their relationship begins to change. Can they face themselves and harvest this feeling? The film "Harvest" won the "Victory Column Jury Prize" at the 2011 Berlin Film Festival. It tells a simple love story set in the countryside, featuring not only picturesque rural landscapes but also a busy farming life of "working at sunrise and resting at sunset." Only two of the main actors are professional, while the rest are actual German villagers, providing a direct reflection of people's real attitudes towards homosexuality in a closed environment.
