Nearing thirty, James (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) discovers he has cancer, and under this huge blow, he begins to contemplate the meaning of life. In his memories, Barafundle Bay in West Wales is a place filled with reflections. Standing at a crossroads in life, he decides to revisit this place and relive the beautiful past. James and three of his friends set off on a journey to Barafundle Bay, including Miles (played by JJ Feild), David (played by Tom Burke), and Bill (played by Adam Robertson). As James's friends, Miles and the others feel obligated to accompany him through the toughest times of his life; however, this slightly melancholic journey holds even greater significance for them. Along the way, troubles abound, and their friendship faces constant tests, but they all understand that life is like a journey, and as long as one keeps moving forward, there will always come a day when they reach their destination.
