The optimistic and cheerful young man, Mauji (played by Varun Dhawan), helps his uncle run a sewing machine shop and seems especially eager to please others. At his uncle's son's wedding, Mauji acts silly and tries to draw attention, which embarrasses and saddens his wife, Mamta (played by Anushka Sharma). Back home, Mamta is unhappy and in tears, urging her husband to use his tailoring skills to be self-reliant instead of humiliating himself to survive.
