In an old apartment with poor sound insulation, neighbors Sō (portrayed by Junichi Okada) and Nao (portrayed by Kumiko Aso) inevitably share each other’s sounds. Nao's coughs, the hum of the humidifier, the cadence of her French, and the sound of the wind chimes when the door opens and closes; Sō grinding coffee and the metallic clink of keys as he walks. Although they live next to each other, they have never met, yet these sounds allow them to share their lives and provide comfort and healing during their respective lonely and sad times. Nao, a floral designer, works part-time at a flower shop while preparing to study abroad in France. During this time, she encounters a confession from a convenience store worker, only to find out later that it was a lie; Sō, a photographer known for shooting a photobook for popular star Shingo (portrayed by Hiroyuki Ikeuchi), secretly yearns to capture landscape photos. However, Shingo unexpectedly disappears, causing Sō's plans for Canadian landscape photography to be put on hold. The injured pair decides to make a change and go abroad. Despite having mutual feelings and crossing paths countless times, they have yet to meet. Meanwhile, a phone call from a class reunion back in their hometown seems to be fate’s way of connecting them...
