This animated film is an ink wash animation, adapted from the fable "The Clam and the Sandpiper" in "Strategies of the Warring States – Yan Strategy." It has won multiple international awards, including the Silver Bear for Best Short Film at the 34th (West) Berlin International Film Festival in 1984. The old fisherman, while fishing in the lake, is initially attracted by the sandpiper and the clam, trying to catch them but failing. The fish in the kingfisher's mouth is snatched away by the sandpiper, which then finds a worm, only to have it taken by the clam. Just as the clam was about to eat it, the sandpiper seizes the opportunity and swallows it. Later, the sandpiper catches a fish and approaches the clam to offer an apology, but the clam ignores this and instead retaliates, leading to a fierce fight between the sandpiper and the clam, much to the delight of the old fisherman watching from the side.
